We have been trying for a baby for about six years now. We got married in 2018 and we both knew that we wanted to create a family together. We both love children and love spending time with our nieces and nephews.
We didn’t know how hard it would be to start a family. So, for many months we were let down, we finally went to a fertility doctor in 2018. We did a variety of tests that we had to pay out of pocket for since our insurance does not cover fertility. All of our tests came back normal, we didn’t have any answers as to why we weren’t conceiving. I remember asking the doctor “what’s wrong with us?” He simply said, “you fall into the category of unexplained infertility.” We left that day and I looked up at Travis, we both had tears in our eyes…. why us? Why is it so hard for God to give us a baby?
We then did a fertility treatment called IUI. We got a call from the nurse that day and I let it go to voicemail so I could wait for Travis to get home so we could hear the news together. We got home, sat down and I played her voicemail. She said “Rylee I’m sorry but your pregnancy blood test was negative,” we both held each other and cried.
I know I’m supposed to be a mommy someday, I have such a strong bond with my mom and I want to share that with my child someday. All of my family and friends say I’m a natural, and that we will make wonderful parents.
~Our Last Option to Meet Our Little One~
IVF, in-vitro fertilization, is the process of retrieving a woman’s eggs to have them fertilized and grown in an embryology lab. Once a fertilized embryo passes a certain stage of initial growth in the lab, it is then placed in a woman’s uterus to mature into a baby. IVF is very expensive and, like many, our insurance does not cover any of it.
$13,500 price breakdown:
- Pre-treatment blood test
- Medications
- Egg retrieval – surgery
- Ultrasounds
- Embryo transfer – surgery
- Sedation
We have turned to creating a Go Fund Me account for our IVF journey and are anxious and nervous, but we want this more than anything in the world, and can’t wait to meet our little bundle of joy some day!! ❤️
Thank you so much for reading our story!
